Night Out #12

Another weekend, some more going out makeup. This time featuring a quick smokey eye I've been obsessed with (A quick how to above). It's easy and features very few products. Makeup Geek Cocoa Bear in the crease, Makeup Geek Corrupt on the lid blended back and forth with a MAC 217. On the Inner Corner, I used theBalm's Mary Lou-Manizer that I also highlighted my cheekbones with. For lashes, I used the Ardel Demi Whispies but cut in half and double stacked to really give me lashes some lift and oomph.
The rest of my face consisted of NARS Sheer Glow in Barcelona and Syracuse, Bobbi Brown Corrector in Dark Peach and MAC Prep + Prime Translucent to set everything. Bronzer was the Bobbi Brown Matte Bronzer in Dark so it reflects the reddy brown of the shadow in the crease. As for lips, I used the Maybelline Matte Lipstick in Nude Nuance.

P.S. The Outfit Details are coming in the next post.

What do you think?

Night Out #11

Another day... another bronzey eye, but WAIT... plot twist! Funky blue gradient bottom lash!
I've had these pictures saved as a draft for a pretty long time now - something just keeps stopping me from posting it - but ho hey, why not?
For base I used the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in 7.5 - for some reason this foundation doesn't work on my skin the way it used to - I used to rave about how amazing it was, but now it just sits on my skin without sinking in - can you tell from the pictures? I followed it up with the MAC Prolongwear Concealer in NC42 and set everything in place with my Ben Nye Banana Powder - after wanting it for years, I can say, it does brighten - but I'm not a fan of how matte it leaves my skin, almost making my undereyes look a bit.. crapey.
For Bronzer, I used my Bobbi Brown Matte Bronzer in Dark and blended it to my cheeks. Because it's a reddish brown, it works very well as a subtle blush as well.
For my brows I used the same thing I've been using for over a year now and just it pan on; the Anastasia Beverly Hills DipBrow Pomade in Ebony.
For my eyes, I used MAC's Bronze eyeshadow all over the lid, and MAC's Woodwinked in the inner corners. As for the interesting bit, I used MAC's Chromographic Pencil in Hi-Def Cyan on my waterline and blended it below.. to top it off, I used Urban Decay Chaos (electric palette) and blended it out with Urban Decay Fringe. I then used Fringe to create a wing from the lower lashline upwards and add some definition to the upper lashline. L'oreal False Lash Architect 4 D Waterproof Mascara finished up the eyes rather nicely.
Finally, for lips, I used MAC's Twig lipstick.

I was rather pleased at how this came out, what do you think?

Night out #10

I love the idea of tone on tone makeup. Which is exactly why I tried creating something a bit more tonal when I was going out a few weeks ago.
For my base, I used the L'oreal True Match in W7 around the perimeter, keeping it away from the centre... For the undereyes, chin, nose and forehead, I used a combination of NC42 mixed in with NC35 in the MAC Prolongwear Concealer. After setting these areas with the Ben Nye Banana Powder, I bronzed up the perimeter of my face with the NARS Bronzer in Casino. This helps add dimension and makes my roundish face seem even more oval and well defined. I went in and further contoured the cheekbones using the Inglot Eyeshadow in 357 Matte.
For the eyes, I started with Makeup Geek Eyeshadow in Creme Brule and Cocoa Bear in the crease faded out to the brow bone. I repeated this processes till I was happy with the intensity. I then used the Bobbi Brown Eyeshadow in Cognac all over the lid and blended it out into the MUG shadows. In the outer third, I used Makeup Geek Corrupt to smoke out Cognac... Once i blended everything in again, I used the Maybelline Gel Liner to create the wing, followed by 3 coats of the L'oreal Miss Manga Mascara. Since the eyes were a bit too dark for my liking, I used MAC All That Glitters in the inner corners to brighten my eyes.
For the lips, I used the L'oreal Matte Moisture Lipstick in Maple Mocha.

Overall, I was rather pleased with this look.
What are your thoughts?

Embracing the Cool Tones

Honestly, I'm not a cool toned girl. Don't get me wrong, I think so many warm toned women can pull off the cool tones effortlessly. The cool taupes, silvers, greys and blues... I never really thought I could until I found this little gem while looking for something other than what is now my signature bronzey eye.
This little Wet n' Wild Trio in Silent Treatment that Aditi sent me during our exchange was rediscovered over the last month, and I've got to say, I LOVE IT.
I know people always go on and on about the quality of these shadows for the price... and I'm rather late on the bandwagon, but holy smokes!
Buttery, silky and easy to blend, why don't I own more?

In terms of colours, I really think the 'Browbone' colour reminds me a lot of MAC's All that Glitters, while the 'Eyelid' colour so is similar to MAC's Satin Taupe. If those two have been on your wishlist and you have access to this brand, getittttt!
Rest of the face consists of MAC Prolongwear Concealer in NC 42 to hide the scars and the dark circles, Chanel Loose Powder to Set it in place, Bobbi Brown Bronzer in Dark on the cheeks and MAC's Rebel blotted out on the lips.

I'm SO in love with this little trio that I am not totally okay with embracing the cool tones on my own face! Bring on the silvers.. heh.

What are your thoughts?

P.S. Does anyone know where I can get some Colourpop Cosmetics? Etsy Seller? Amazon/ebay seller who doesn't charge a boatload in shipping? Hook me up, people!

That Kylie Jenner Lip

I know I know, first Kim K, now Kylie Jenner, for someone who cannot stand the Kardashians, a lot of my posts seem to have some association with them. But I can't help it! I love a lot of their makeup. And their tanned skin being somewhat on par with Indian tones, its very hard not to embrace those trends they seem to set.
If you happen to be in Chennai and read the Hindu (if you don't, you really should, because it is afterall the only paper worth reading) you may have seen my article dedicated to it. (If you haven't - it is on my facebook page *insert shameless plug*)
But, this is a little concoction on my own for my dearest but slightly neglected blog.
What is it? A combination of the L'oreal Matte Moisture Lipstick in Maple Mocha - a redish plummy brown shade with the Jordana Easy Liner for Lips in Rock n' Rose (Thank you again, Aditi, I don't know how I lived without it). So till i get my hands on soar, this is going to be my version.
What are your thoughts?

Do you have a favorite mimic Kylie combination? yes? TELL ME YOUR SECRETS.

Over and out.

Kim K Inspired Makeup

I can't believe I actually did this. And let me secretly admit, I do love a good old Kim K makeup stalk. Yes, I think its too much makeup, but those smokey eyes are always on point. And when I saw this - largely wearable, I decided I needed to recreate it. After going back and forth about publishing this post for the last few days, I finally decided to just do it.
What i really love about it is the bronzey eyes with that silvery highlight in the inner corners. Now, I by no means claim I look anything like her, heck, my face is about twice as wide as hers, but its pretty makeup, why not try it out?

I started out with a light layer of the L'oreal True Match in W7 around the perimeter of my face, since its darker, it helps add a bit of dimension. After concealing my under eyes with the MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NW 35, I went over the 'highlight' areas with my MAC ProLongwear Concealer in NC42. So, this is the classic Kim K areas - triangle under the eyes, bridge of the nose, centre of the forehead, chin and below the cheekbone. Once I blended it out and set it with my Ben Nye Banana Powder, I contoured using the Inglot 357 Matte Shadow and the NARS Casino Bronzer over the areas I'd used the true match.
For the eyes, I used the Max Factor Excess Shimmer Pot in Bronze.. what I loved about this eye is that its a single colour that seems to go pretty high up - almost till the eyebrow on the inner side of the eye. I find that this shape suits my eye a fair bit, so I was pretty happy with it. I ran a bit of the Shimmer Pot under my eye also. To really make the eyes pop, I used a Brown Kohl liner by Lakme, because I prefer using brown with my skintone, but I'm pretty certain she has black.
After tons and tons of mascara because I wasn't feeling the lashes - L'oreal Miss Manga Mascara, and some lipbalm, I called it a day.

What do you guys think?

Night Out #9

There seems to be a sudden revival of the Face of the Day/Night here on Colliding Interests, hasn't there? Blame it entirely on the 'moving to another country' bit, but I've been going out a lot. And with the going out comes a plethora of other things - good food, actually using my fancy clothes and jewelry and of course the makeup!
I went back to an old Foundation Combination of mine - the Chanel Vita Lumier Aqua mixed in with the Giorgio Armani Luminous silk. I've posted about it here, but let me tell you, it is some seriously amazing stuff. Since it pretty much conceals everything that needs to be concealed in my case, I just dabbed a bit more of the Luminous Silk mixed with the Maybelline Dream Touch Lumi under my eyes, on my chin etc to add a bit more coverage, and highlight those areas ever so slightly. I dusted a bit of the Kryolan Anti Shine Translucent Powder just to set the highlight (precision powdering people!).
For the rest of my face, I used a combination of the Inglot 357 Matte (contour), MAC's Lustre Drops in Sun Rush and the Clinique Cheek Pop in Berry Pop. These are finally out in India, btw, at INR 2100 - ridiculous!
Onto the eyes. I finally got my hands on the Clinique Eyeshadow in Black Honey, which I used all over the lid, and a bit of the Kiko Eyeshadow Stick in 6 in the inner corners. I smoked things out and lined my lashline with Makeup Geek's Corrupt and used a boatload of the Maybelline HyperCurl Waterproof Mascara.
For the lips - this is a bit of a confused one. So, I started out with L'oreal Matte Moisture Lipstick in Lincoln Rose, but I didn't like the way it looked with Black Honey, so I added a bit of the WetnWild Mauve Outta Here on top of that, and suddenly things came together, I feel.

Also featured in this post is my new haircut - I went shorter, woot!
So, what do you guys think?

P.S. Two weeks to England! *runs off to panic*

Night Out #8

These Night Out/FOTD posts are becoming some of my favorites, should I make this a weekly feature?
On Friday, I went with a couple of friends for the opening of the Chennai International Fashion Week, we got to see Rocky Star's Resort Collection, followed by some terrible wine and amazing spaghetti cabonara at a pub nearby. It was a really good evening.
But ofcourse, let me go over the contents of my face.
As you can see, my skin is currently healing/drying so I have lots of texture there.. sigh. I used MAC's Strobe Cream all over my face as a base, I dabbed a bit of my Bobbi Brown Corrector under my eyes and MAC Pro Longwear Concealer to conceal my scars.. once I was happy with all the blending, I used the Maybelline Dream Touch Lumi to highlight under my eyes (in a V shape) on my chin, centre of my forehead and nose. I set the highlighted areas with the Kryolan Translucent Setting Powder. I used my Nars Casino Bronzer on the outer perimeter of my face as a bronzer - it also helps add some dimension making my face less err, round. I contoured with my favorite Inglot 357 Matte Eyeshadow and used the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Blissful on the cheeks.
For the Eyes, I used the Kat Von D Monarch Palette, the gold shade all over the lid, a dark brown in the outer half and crease to blend it out. I used the matte black from the palette as eyeliner and followed it up with tons of Maybelline Hyper Curl Waterproof Mascara after curling them.
For Lips, I used my L'oreal Matte Moisture Lipstick in Raspberry Syrup which has got to be my favorite lipstick, ever!

Sooo, what do you guys think?

The Moisturizing Matte

Hello,
Long time, no see. I know I know. I didn't post on Friday, for which I apologize. See, my cousin was here, and we were on holiday, and since I've been pretty regular about my blogging schedule during my 2 week holiday, I just thought I'd take a day off. So I did. But the holidays over now, reality has set in and a blogpost is here. :D
I thought the name for this post was pretty apt, but then I realized its pretty much what these lipsticks are called. The L'oreal Colour Riche Moisture Matte Lipstick are exactly what they say they are. A moisturizing matte lipstick. If you're someone who doesn't like the dry feeling of a matte lip, these are for you.
They're are soft. Completely opaque on application, leave your lips feeling moisturized and stay on for hours and hours! Seriously. These are awesome.
The only not so awesome thing? They cost INR 899, which is steep, but for these, I'd pay that price and then some.
And the packaging? Love!
I currently own only Raspberry Syrup, but I have a strange feeling I've found my "cannot live without it" Lipstick formula. THAT GOOD.
Still not convinced? JUST LOOK AT IT!

Buy it. Even if you don't like mattes. You'll love this. I assure you.

Night Out #6

Another weekend, some more going out, though, this week has been chaotic. Ever since I came back from Delhi, my cousin and I have been going out non stop, there's been a good amount of drinking (coming from a teetotaler, its ridiculous, but oh well you're 22 once right?) a lot of eating, and plentiful opportunities to dress up.
A new favorite of mine is the Bold Lip, which I've been sporting non stop - but more about that soon. For this night, I went with a pretty basic look, Bourjois Happy Light Foundation all over the face, with a bit of Bobbi Brown Corrector under the eyes. Some Chanel Loose Powder to set everything together.
For eyes, I went with MAC's Sable (really, best eyeshadow ever.. if that is a possibility), some Maybelline Gel liner and Max Factor 2000 Calorie Curved Mascara.
And my favorite part - the lips. MAC's Relentlessly Red (new acquisition) which lasts through food, makeup remover and 8 hours of sleep. Impressed? I am.

Also, can we just discuss the little detailing in the dress I'm wearing? Its from Forever21, one of my few Delhi purchases. Just look at it... I'm in love.

So, this was quick, what do you think? :)

Night Out #5

I realized I hadn't done one of these in a long time, so here goes.
I've really been into more complex eye looks off late - y'know the ones that require 8 different colours? Yeah, those.
The eyes are really the focus here, because I used Makeup Geek Creme Brule (transition shade), Makeup Geek Coco Bear (To deepen the socket), MAC Brown Down (to deepen it even further), Nars Cordura (outer half of eyelid), MAC All that Glitters (Inner half of eyelid) and then MAC Texture to lightly blend them all out. Lined my upper lashline with the Maybelline Gel Liner and used a generous coat of Max Factor False Lash Extension Mascara.
For my face, I only used a but of the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NC42 mixed in with the MAC Strobe Cream on scars and whatnot, and powdered lightly using my Chanel Loose Powder.
The outer perimeter of my face, I used my Bobbi Brown Bronzer in Dark to add a bit of dimension, and used the Inglot 357 Matte eyeshadow to contour the cheekbones. I left my lips bare - with a bit of lipbalm as they've been horribly chapped offlate.

What are your thoughts?

First Impressions - Bourjois Happy Light Foundation

I don't think I've ever seen a "First Impression" blogpost before, if you have, let me know? I love watching these videos on youtube, but somehow I just cannot ever think of starting my own Youtube Channel - so I thought I'd just do a post.
If you know me, you know my taste wanders to the higher end cosmetic brands when it comes to Base Makeup. But lately, I have been finding a fair few gems in the more "budget" makeup brands.. such as the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams (post here) or the MUG Eyeshadows (Here, here, here and here), but the one thing I haven't really found is a good foundation. Now you also know much I love my base products - be it illuminators/ primer/ highlighters/ foundation/ concealers/ bronzers.. the one product over the last month or so that has been a stand out for me was the Bourjois Happy Light Illuminating Primer. I found myself reaching for it practically everyday since I got it - needless to say I was curious about the foundation from the same range.
Colour Match - I have never found a good shade match in drugstore foundations, for whatever reason, and when I saw that they had only 5 shades in the Happy Light range, I was not confident. I thought I'd probably be matched to the darkest shade in the range - 54, but the sales girl insisted that I try 53, which at first looked too light for me; but it blended into my skin so beautifully and ended up looking exactly like my skin - but better.
Packaging wise - it comes in a glass bottle (which means not great to travel with; you probably can travel with it, not a big deal for me) with a coral/pink pump (Hygenic, easy and perfect! It should be mandatory for all foundations to come in either a tube or with a pump) - its so pretty! I'm usually someone who hates anything but monochrome packaging, but who can resist this?
Also, I'd like to point out that this doesn't seem to have SPF in it. Atleast I can't see it on the bottle. A lot of people seem to find the lack of SPF a bad thing - but I really love when foundations don't have SPF (If my beloved Chanel VA didn't have SPF 15, it really would be the perfect foundation) because I can use it at night/when the flash is on and I can look glowy and natural sans the disgusting white cast. During the day, I'd just use it over my regular Sunscreen (Neutrogena SPF 50+).

Makeup - Bourjois Happy Light Fondation in 53, Bobbi Brown Corrector in Dark Bisque, Chanel Loose Powder (under the eyes), Inglot 357 Matte to contour, Anastasia DipBrow Pomade, Eyes - Makeup Geek e/s in Cocoa Bear, Galaxy and Corrupt, Max Factor Lash Extension Effect Mascara, Revlon Matte Balm in Sultry

Bourjois Happy Light Foundation is suited for dryer skins, I have gathered - it provides "8 hours of hydration" according to the bottle - which is something someone like me, who has dehydrated skin really yearns for.
As you can see from the first to second picture above, all I need is one pump to cover my face and blend it into my neck. The texture is a little on the runny side (not as runny as Face and Body though) and it glides onto the skin pretty easily. As I said earlier it did look a bit too light but it blended in with my skin really well. Coverage wise I'd say its sheer-medium. Dabbing a little more product over certain areas really gave me the coverage I needed; it also imparts the most healthy looking glow to the skin which looks so natural and really lovely. I also feel the need to mention that it does have a slight fragrance - but nothing that lingers.
For reference,I didn't powder any part of my face except the undereye area to see how the foundation wears on its own.
If you're someone who doesn't like the feeling of foundation on your skin - you might like this, as I just couldn't feel it. Is that why its called "Happy Light?" Hmm.

Incase you were wondering - I had eaten, and with that went away my lipstick - entirely. Sigh
As you can see - after about 4 hours it settles into the skin a little more - everything still looks pretty great - not a bit of wear in sight. I thought my skin was looking pretty darn good.

I didn't bother reapplying the lip colour for some reason - oh yeah, I just forgot
So this is after a little more than 10 hours. It looked a lot more worn at this point, and had started disappearing around my scarring - you can also see that my undereye concealer seems to have faded a fair bit; but after 10 hours, it was totally expected.
There was no clinging to dry patches, no oxidizing, and most importantly, not once through the day did it look like I was wearing a ton of makeup - I was even complimented on my "glowing skin". Really, if that doesn't tell you how this foundation seems to have performed, I don't know what else can.

So my first impression of this foundation would be - LOVE. Its so light and covers everything I need covering while making my skin look healthy and really fresh - I can see this becoming a summer staple. Just one little point though - I'd suggest getting one or two shades lighter than you normally do - just because the Happy Light range seems to run more yellow and darker than its Healthy mix counterpart. Oh, and it costs INR 1495 for 30ml.

Do you like these First Impression posts? Should I make this a regular feature? What are your thoughts on Happy Light?

P.S. Have you noticed my new blogging schedule? I post Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8:30am IST.

Makeup Geek - Evening Purple-Plums.

When I first swatched my Makeup Geek eyeshadows, the one I was a little scared off was Burlesque, so naturally, I had to use it to stop fearing it.
This is a relatively simple evening look - as I usually go a little more all out when it comes to them. Since burlesque pulls a more of a purply-plum-pink on me, I thought I'd pair it with MAC's Rebel.

Products Used
MAC Face and Body Foundation in C5 (built upto medium coverage)
Bobbi Brown Dark Bisque Corrector
Chanel Pondre Universelle Libre in 40 Dore (just to set the concealer under my eyes)
Chanel Cream Blush in Presage
Nars Coconut Grove Eyeshadow (Brows)
Makeup geek eyeshadow in Burlesque (Lid), Creme Brule (to blend out burlesque), Vanilla Bean (highlight) and Corrupt (smudged into Lashline)
Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara
MAC Rebel Lipstick

I personally loved this, what do you think?

Birthday Weekend!

Birthday weekend post coming your way in 5.. 4.. 3.. 2.. 1. Note: Picture Heavy.

So, the 9th of February was my 22nd Birthday (yay, oldage) and it turned out into more of a weekend bonanza than just a Sunday celebration becauseeee.. my best friend Nikhil's (See picture above, with the birthday boy) Birthday is on the 8th. So it turned into a fun filled weekend! (Though, sadly, I ended up working on both days, ugh)
On Saturday, we drove out to Moonrakers in Mahabalipuram, where you get the tastiest fresh seafood, though we didn't take too many pictures (we aren't picture people) we managed a few here and there.

On Saturday night, my lovely parents surprised me with my favorite red velvet and cream cheese cupcakes from the Cupcake Company.
On Sunday, we went out for lunch with the grandmother, followed by some shopping (LOTS of new things, yay!) and went to the Great Kebab Factory for dinner. (so good, so full)
Oh and for your viewing pleasure, I took a bunch of Birthday pictures with my cats - Qoco (black) and Snowman (White).

Now, onto my favorite part - throughout the weekend I wore pretty much the same makeup, featuring some new products from Bobbi Brown and a highlighter from MAC!
For my base, I have found the most beautiful combination of Chanels' Vita Lumier Aqua mixed with Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk, the coverage that the two combined gives me kills the need for concealer - at the same time it looks bloody natural and so - I'm glowing-from-within. I used my new Bobbi Brown Dark Peach Corrector under my eye (I was matched to Dark Bisque for god knows what reason, and have used up 3 of those - but I feel peach does a better job of eradicating the darkness). For my eyes, a new shadow acquisition, which is Bobbi Brown's Shimmer Shadow in Cognac - Its a burgundy plum, and my first venture into the BB shadows, I have to say, its LOVE. Buttery goodness and the pigmentation - sweet baby jesus.
I blended that out with my Inglot 357 Matte, and used my Maybelline gel liner. For brows, Anastasia Beverly Hills DipBrow in Ebony. For ze lashes, I used the very hyped Benefit's They're Real! And I have to say, I'm underwhelmed. Yes it can hold a curl, but no, it doesn't make the dramatic difference that people claim it does, but then again, it could just be me.
Okay, we're almost there - two more new products that I used this weekend was the Bobbi Brown Matte Bronzer in Dark (Better than my beloved NARS Casino? Jury is still out!) and the MAC's Extra Dimension Skin Finish in Magnetic Appeal as a highlighter (I've never tried these before, but I've got to say, I'm hooked). Highlighter seems to be my new addiction - but more on that later.
I finished everything off with MAC's Rebel which just.. aaah, look at it!

Ze new beauty stuff!

Haulage - Boyfriend jeans - Marks & Spencers, Layered necklace - Accessorize, Houndstooth Snood - Aldo, Black Wedges - Aldo, Bag - Oasap.com

So, that was my birthday weekend, with a little Face of the Weekend thrown in.. what did you think? :)

Day-Night Makeup.

I love the idea of simple makeup during the day, usually - MUFE Ful Cover Concealer to hide my spots and pesky dark circles, Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder just to set the under eye concealer and thats the base. I always, always, ALWAYS define my brows with NARS Coconut Grove Eyeshadow, and use either the Maybelline Gel Liner or just Mascara, and some lipbalm.
On the same day, I had to go out that evening and had less than 5 minutes to get read, so on went my trusty Giorgio Armani LSF over the days slightly worn-in concealer  (its perfect really, gives you this glow and stays on without needing powder), a sweep of MAC's Amber Lights in the centre of the lid, loads of Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara, and some of MAC's Lady at Play lipstick to really make it more dressy.

I like this, its easy to do - fast and I love how different it looks.

What do you like to do?

Eyes or Lips?

Considering it is the Holiday Season, I thought I'd put up two of the makeup looks I've worn over the last week or so. When given a choice between eyes and lips, I usually go for eyes without question, dark smokey sultry eyes are my go-to when it comes to parties. On the other hand, there is something about Christmas that makes you want to bust out the red lip, so this time I've decided to bring to you two looks focusing on different features.

In the first picture - its all about the red lip. Ruby Woo takes centre stage - as it seems the most Christmas Appropriate - This is also a Christmas FOTD. The face is very very simple, MUFE Full Cover Concealer in 10 to hide 'em pesky blemishes, a bit of bronzer - NARS Casino to sculpt those cheekbones and define that crease, and a light dusting of MAC's Amber Lights Eyeshadow right in the centre of the lid, finished off with lots and lots of Max Factor's Flase Lash Effect Mascara (new favorite? I think so)

The second picture, however, is more up my alley. A traditional silvery smokey eye, a nude lip and flawless (well, almost - as flawless as my very blemished face can appear) skin. Creep and Gunmetal from the UD Naked palette over a base of Maybelline's Black Gel Liner blended out with Inglot's 357 Matte.
For the face I used Giorgio Armani Luminious Silk Foundation in 7.5 and a bit of the MUFE Full Cover Concealer over it. NARS Casino made its regular appearance and MAC's Velvet Teddy sealed the deal. Overall, I'm really happy with the way this turned out, very Kim K (as much as I may dislike her - I've got to admit, her makeup artist knows his shit.)

So which one would you chose? Eyes or Lips?
Merry Christmas/Boxing Day everyone!

Night Out #3

When I go out with my family, I like to keep things simple. However, I do think that going out for dinner is a good place to really bring on the pretty glowey face. I also did something I've never done before. Use Bronzer, Blush and Highlight.
I'm a bronzer kinda gal, I like my definition and I like my tan. But on occasion, I like the whole rosy cheek thing too. I hardly very use highlighter, its just something I don't think my face needs (being an oilmine and all) but the combination of these three products is clearly a winner. *insert thumbs up*

I started off with the Chanel's Vita Lumier Aqua Foundation all over, followed by my Bobbi Brown Corrector in Dark Bisque under my eyes to eliminate those pesky dark circles. I then contoured my cheeks with my NARS Casino Bronzer, a staple my face welcomes.
For Blush I used NARS Taj Mahal, a gorgeous burnt orange blush with a nice sheen to it. I blended that from the apples of my cheeks into my bronzer. I then used my MAC Lusture Drops in Sun Rush over the top and dabbed it with my finger.
Since the cheeks were so heavy, I decided to go with a light dusting of MAC's Woodwinked on my eyelids and blended it out ever so slightly with MAC's Amber Lights.. sticking to the same golden-orange tones. Winged Liner using Maybelline's Gel eyeliner finished the eyes (I just wasn't feeling the mascara). I filled in the gaps of my brows using Coconut Grove by NARS.
For lips, I went nude with MAC's Velvet Teddy.
I powdered my T-zone with the Bourjois Heathly Balance Powder and done!

Earrings - Aldo
Cuff - Forever New

Do you prefer this narrative over just a list of products?
I hope you enjoyed this post!

Night Out #2 - A Bold Step.

I consider myself a hermit, for sure.
But when I do go out, I go all out.

Starting with Revlon Photoready Primer (I use this very rarely, but it evens out my skintone and makes my skin super smooth)
I used my MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC43.5, this is the only foundation I own which has medium - full coverage, perfect for when your skin is acting up. Because this foundation is so perfect-ing, I don't use a concealer with it.
I then used my Chanel Bronzer and MAC's Prep + Prime translucent setting powder.
FACE DONE!

For the eyes, I decided to go a bit funky.
I own a ton of eyeshadows and bases! Mostly because I use them for a LOT of photoshoots, and hardly ever on me.
I used the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Pomegranate Pink as a base, MAC's Rani (LE) on the inner half and MAC's Oomph (LE) on the outer half and blended. Ofcourse I cannot leave my house without my winged liner, for which, as always I used Blacktrack Fluidline.
For Mascara I realized, Rimmels Lash Accelrator + Scandaleyes Show off make a brilliant combination.
I used Revlons Sugar Plum on my lips and blotted it out.

We ended up not going to the place we had initially thought of going too, because it was too crowded. Instead we went to a nice little restaurant, and chilled.

I had a lovely friday night, did you? :)

Night Out #1

Hello all.
This is my second post of the day, which is probably never going to happen again, so I'm going to rejoice while I can.
When you have so much free time, you tend to think about blogging, constantly. It's getting a little out of hand.
Anyway, on to my face.

Face - Chanel Vita Lumier Aqua in B60 (I think, its nowhere on the bottle)
Bobbi Brown Corrector in Dark Bisque
MAC Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder, Pressed.
MAC Mineralize Blush in Sakura

Eyes - Since I've been neglecting my UD Naked Palette, I thought I'd take it for a spin, for a change, I used Toasted all over the lid, Hustle in the outer corner and crease, and Virgin in the tear duct area.
Blacktrack Fluidline
Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara + Rimmel Scandal Eyes Show off Mascara (Best mascara combination, ever)
Lips - Revlon Lip Butter in Pink Truffle.

At first, I'd worn something rather colourful (and strapless, hence the bare-ness), which is why I stuck to the basic neutral lip, but then, I changed into this grey dress from Vera Moda, via ASOS.

This dress screamed for some colour, which is when I realized I had the PERFECT red lipstick, MAC's Prolongwear Lipcolour in Lasting Lust. (review coming soon!)

Isn't it gorgeous?
My necklace is from Forever 21, if anyone was wondering.

I had a very relaxing and chilled out evening with the family.
How was your weekend?
